The Mar Thoma Suvisesha Sevika Sangham, which is the women’s wing, was established during the Maramon Convention in 1919. This significant event took place under the guidance of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan, who provided ongoing support and inspiration to the Sangham.
In the ministry of our Lord, women played a pivotal role. Some of the most devoted followers and closest companions of Jesus were women. They were the last to leave the cross and the first to witness his resurrection. Within the church, women hold a crucial position in serving others. One doesn’t need to possess eloquence in speech, be a gifted writer, or a theologian to extend help to those in need. A compassionate heart and a willingness to serve are what truly matter. St. Stephen’s MTC Sevika Sangham has exemplified this principle over the past decade.
The Sevika Sangham is firmly rooted in the principle of serving the underprivileged and needy in society. The group has been successful in fundraising for various charitable causes and has actively supported the church in its spiritual endeavors.
Sevika Sangham gatherings take place at the church every 1st and 3rd Sunday following the service.
