Karuna Charitable Society
Karuna Charitable Society is a platform established to bring together the Mission and Charity Programs of the Church under one roof. Its primary goal is to offer a clear direction to these programs, ensuring they align with the church’s values and objectives. The society seeks long-term partnerships with missions and charities that share similar values and goals.
One of its key focuses is to enhance communication among all stakeholders, particularly between donors and beneficiaries. This ensures transparency and accountability in all charity endeavors.
At present, the society primarily operates in two main areas: Neighbourhood Mission and Social Aid Programme. These areas may evolve or expand as the programs and the church grow.
The Neighbourhood Mission entails several activities aimed at supporting the local community:
- Langar Service: This involves organizing love feasts for members of the community who are less privileged. These events provide not only nourishment but also a sense of belonging and care.
- Winter Assistance: During the cold winter months, the society distributes warm clothing to those living on the streets, offering them comfort and protection against the harsh weather conditions.
- Medical and Educational Aid: The society provides support to deserving individuals who require medical or educational assistance. This can include financial aid for medical treatments or scholarships for education.
- Counselling Classes: Recognizing the importance of mental and emotional well-being, the society conducts counseling sessions to provide support and guidance to those in need.
These activities are integral to the society’s mission of serving the community and embodying the values of compassion and solidarity championed by the Church. As the society continues to grow, it remains committed to adapting and expanding its programs to meet the evolving needs of the community it serves.
